The New West Wing from the Front
The powerful front façade of the West Wing has a segmental arch which rises into the tympanum of the pediment. This is a reference to the temple of Isis at Pompeii and represents the fusion of eastern and western culture in Roman architecture. The internal plasterwork of the new ceilings also combines eastern and western classical motifs in the design of the embellishment, a particular design request made by the client, Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan.
