Peterhouse is the oldest college at The University of Cambridge, and is comprised of several Grade I and Grade II listed historic buildings dating back to 1286. Peterhouse is characterized by several three sided courts with a screen wall enclosing a fourth side. In keeping with this tradition, the new building is designed to recall the old screen wall that once existed across the open side of Gisborne Court. The new building faces into the court and completes the 1820’s design. The new building houses 22 student rooms, a new two level common room, bar, gym, function room, two music practice rooms and a guest room, which has enabled the College to house all its undergraduates on site for the duration of their course.
